As noted by trademark attorney Mike Kondoudis on Twitter, this month the United States Patent and Trademark Office granted an application for the JP Morgan Wallet trademark.The trademark has been registered for "virtual currency transfer and exchange, crypto payment processing, virtual checking accounts, and financial services," according to Kondoudis.
The application comes despite Dimon's public scepticism on the crypto industry.In testimony to Congress in September, he called himself a “major skeptic on crypto tokens” and elaborated that cryptocurrency, such as Bitcoin, are “decentralised Ponzi schemes, and the notion that it is good for anybody is unbelievable.”Since then, the industry has taken arguably its biggest hit, with the collapse of exchange FTX bringing the value of bitcoin and others to new lows and attracting renewed scrutiny from regulators..
