The UK's legal regulator is planning a crackdown on sexual misconduct by banning offenders from the industry instead of fining them.
For cases involving sexual misconduct, discrimination or any form of harassment, financial penalties will only be considered in "exceptional circumstances" according to new guidance from the Solicitors Regulation Authority, which believes striking off or suspending offending lawyers is a "more appropriate sanction".
