As crypto takes the main stage in Donald Trump’s election campaign strategy, the former President has recently picked long-time crypto supporter as his Vice Presidential hopeful. Trump, the presumptive GOP nominee, has chosen Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate on Monday. According to Trump’s post on his Truth Social Network, the decision to pick Vance comes “after lengthy deliberation and thought.”
“J.D. has had a very successful business career in Technology and Finance,” Trump wrote.
Vance, a former tech venture capitalist, has reportedly held more than $100,000 in Bitcoin, per his latest federal financial disclosure.

“[Vance] owns between $100,001 and $250,000 worth of Bitcoin through Coinbase as of 2022,” crypto news reporter Colin Wu wrote.

Vance, who took the stage as Senator in 2022, has introduced and voted in favor of pro-crypto legislation. He recently drafted a bill that would revamp how US regulates digital assets, according to Politico. According to sources close to Vance, he hopes to improve on Republican-led legislation, which the House passed in May.
