Demand for U.S. workers remained strong in April, according to private-sector estimates, as employers competed to fill positions in a tight labor market.
Jobs site ZipRecruiter said employers had about 11 million job openings last month. That would be down a little from a seasonally adjusted 11.3 million openings reported by the Labor Department for February, the most recent government figures available, but still well above prepandemic levels.
